AirClean® Systems carbon filters use activated coconut shell carbon, which offers a significantly higher internal surface area compared to other carbon types of the same volume. This highly developed internal structure allows the carbon to adsorb up to 50% of its own weight in toxic vapor. The filters are chemically impregnated to increase load capacity and are engineered to minimize the carbon dust commonly associated with traditional granular carbon filters. They serve as a general-purpose solution for adsorbing hydrocarbons, organic vapors, certain acids, esters, sulphur compounds, hydrogen compounds, solvents, and odors, and work alongside the upstream particulate pre-filter to deliver comprehensive air treatment within the hood system.
