Labnet MultiGene OptiMax Thermal Cycler for Genotyping
This easy to use simple to program PCR thermal cycler unit is compact in size and has robust performance. Programming is intuitive with the large display and multiple pre-programmed templates making operation easy.
The OptiMax Thermal Cycler comes with standard built in 2-step, temperature optimization, touchdown and time increment protocols that are easy to change to meet your specific cycling needs. You can select lid temperature or turn it off depending on your needs as well. The faster ramp up rates allow more work to be done in a work day increasing efficiency.
The MultiGene OptiMax uses a new protocol optimization process improving on older gradient features. The unique “Better than Gradient” capability developed by Corning- Labnet allow you to select up to 6 distinct annealing temperatures to be run simultaneously. This is ideal for method optimization as well as applications like genotyping which requires flexibility.
The OptiMax utilizes FlexTemp technology that efficiently separates the 96 well plate into 6 – 4 by 4 temperature regions that allow you to pick the temperatures you want to test against. These regions are easily identified by the blue and black squares visible on the microplate platen. Instead of having the thermal cycler choose temperatures for you, you can choose any temperatures you want within a 24°C range.
The MultiGene OptiMax has a heating rate of 5°C /sec and a cooling rate of 3.5°C/sec. Corning-Labnet has minimized overshooting and undershooting so that your reactions do no have temperature fluctuations. MultiGene OptiMax will save you time and keep results consistent.
Intuitive User Interface
The MultiGene OptiMax utilizes an intuitive user interface. This user interface is friendly to the laboratory environment and consistent with what our customers previously enjoyed in our earlier models. It can be used with lab gloves even if wet. We have improved the ramping speed and eliminated overshooting and undershooting which contributes to longer run times.
MultiGene OptiMax has a Fully Adjustable Heated Lid
The OptiMax’s heated lid is fully adjustable to provide optimal pressure for use with a broad range of tubes and microplates. For optimum performance, the lid can also be programmed to hold different temperatures between 60° to 65°C and 100° to 115°C. The OptiMax lid prevents condensation and slides away and back from the user to provide full access to samples and reduce the risk of meeting a hot surface.
