Globe Scientific Cavity Well Microscope Slides
Globe Scientific cavity well microscope slides are a budget friendly, high quality product that is rapidly replacing name brand products in laboratories across the world. Manufactured from premium glass sheets and packaged in boxes of 72 slides with a moisture absorbent sheet in each box to prevent sticking, these lines of microscope slides are friendly on both your wallet and samples. Globe Scientific is helping revolutionize the way microscopy is done with their innovative cavity well microscope slides. These cavity well slides are the ideal tools to use when attempting to observe both liquids as well as any type of culture through microscope examination. All microscope slides come pre-cleaned and ready to use. Slide dimensions for all types are 25 x 75 x 1 mm. While these cavity well slides are more expensive than utilizing the traditional microscope slides with complimentary cover slips, they do make operations easier and more simple. There is no longer a need to use a cover slip for your microscope slides if you are handling samples with cavity well microscope slides. The cavity well creates a depression in which a liquid or culture sample can rest without disruption or moving across the slide. When preparing a well slide, you simply transfer one to four drops of the sample you wish to observe into the depression in the slide, making sure to focus the microscope carefully with lower resolutions as to not disrupt or touch the sample with the objective lens, which could potentially contaminate your sample as well as your microscope. You also have to be mindful of operation times when utilizing cavity well microscope slides as the focused light of the microscope transmits heat to the sample and can typically evaporate the few drops in as little as 15-30 minutes. If you are working to observe a specimen such as Drosophila or Daphnia, it is best to utilize a cavity well slide. If you want to observe both specimen at once, you could even do so on one slide by utilizing a double well cavity slide.Single or Double Well Slides
In an innovative design, Globe Scientific manufactures their cavity well slides to have either one well or two wells on a single slide. These cavity wells are spherically polished cavities that are 13 mm in diameter as well as coming in depths ranging from 0.22 mm to 0.4 mm. If you are simply working to observe a single sample or specimen, a single well cavity slide is optimal for your use. If you are attempting to compare samples or specimen, it is best to utilize a double well cavity slide. This will reduce your operation time of having to prepare two individual slides with cover slips as well as reduce the time it will take for you to adjust your objective lens and swap out slides. All you would need to do is maneuver the slide from side to side to change between wells and samples.
