One advantage of the EZ Grip nosepiece is that it features a unique filter element that prevents air from passing in either direction when it becomes wet. This security mechanism of the Drummond Portable Pipet-Aid XP with Gravity Drain helps alert the user to possible sample contamination, thereby ensuring the quality of results and the security of all on-site personnel.

The Drummond Portable Pipet-Aid XP with Gravity Drain has been engineered with the varying workload of the modern lab specialist in mind. The system features an aspiration and a dispense mode that each offer three liquid transfer rates. Just like the regular Drummond Portable Pipet-Aid XP, the aspiration mode features fast, medium, and slow speeds. However, unlike the regular Drummond Portable Pipet-Aid XP which features those same speed options for dispensing, the Drummond Portable Pipet-Aid XP with Gravity Drain features medium, slow and gravity drain speeds for dispensing liquids. When the empty/dispensing button is rotated to “G” (gravity drain), the pump will not be activated and the fluid will drain by gravity which provides more precise aliquot delivery with volumetric pipettes. If the user would like to “blow out” the residual fluid in the pipette, the pump can be activated by simply holding the lower button in and simultaneously pressing the Fill button slightly until the pump is activated.
