The Presto™ Mini gDNA Bacteria Kit is a genomic DNA extraction kit optimized for genomic and viral DNA purification from Gram negative bacterial cells and Gram positive bacterial cells
ThisDNA Extraction Kit includes Gram+ Buffer, which combined with lysozyme, will efficiently lyse bacterial cell walls consisting of the peptidoglycan layer
- Chaotropic salt is used to lyse cells and degrade protein, allowing DNA to easily bind to the glass fiber matrix of the genomic DNA spin column

- Contaminants are removed using a Wash Buffer (containing ethanol) and the purified genomic DNA is eluted by a low salt Elution Buffer, TE or water
-
- The entire procedure can be completed within 20 minutes without phenolchloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation

- The purified DNA, with approximately 20-40 kb, is suitable for use in PCR or other enzymatic reactions
